So now that we've actually made our first release we've been expanding ourselves and making a few changes to the website and such. There's only a certain number of links i can put up on the sub-header (the links bar at the top) before it tries to start a second row-this means I have to be conservative with the number of links up there as well as how many letters and such are in their descriptions. Hence "YouTube Channel" becomes "YouTube".
I've also gotten rid of the discussion threads link from the sub-header and simply used the general links that will take you to all our link categories-including the links to the NIN.com video and photo galleries. A lot of the link that disappeared from the sub-header are however still available in the regular navigation panel so if you want a quick link to a specific part of the site that's where to look.
Speaking of which, the navigation panel has been expanded and re-organized and it's hopefully easier to use now and again it contains quick links to places that won't fit on the sub-header links bar.
With the release, we now have THREE FAQs instead of just one. One for the project in general, one for the release of our first DVD, and one regarding our Alternate Reality Game. New questions may be added as we think of them, and feel free to ask us anything that's not covered in any of our facts via our contact form or Twitter.
We've also got a Facebook group set up as you can probably see. It's another nice way for us to connect with the fan community.
The built-in player for the NIN show is also in the sub-header links. It may be preferred over watching it directly on YouTube since from my experience when you watch a Playlist directly on YouTube it tends to exit from full screen mode between videos-our built-in player does not do this, although if you accidentally bump your mouse while watching you will find there's a lot more clutter in the interface-but in my opinion the benefits outweigh the faults.
We've also got a merch store set up on Cafe Press-and you'll notice a fancy disclaimer page explaining how we aren't making any profit from it. As thanks with putting up with our little disclaimer page, we've included some fun images of "fake merchandise" inspired by a certain movie directed by Mel Brooks. ;)
So that about wraps it up for this update. Be sure to download our DVD if you haven't already from our
downloads section. Details on physical distribution will hopefully be forthcoming.
P.S. Be sure to check out the "Showcase" article posted by Thisoneisonus
here!!
P.P.S. We've just added an "Add This" button which allows you to share our news articles with sites/services such as Digg, Facebook, MySpace, Twitter, Delicious, StumbleUpon, and more! If you've been following our Twitter you're probably up to date on all the trouble we had getting it installed into this website, so please make use of it!
If you'd like to Digg our release article specifically, it might be best to use
this link for the specific article I set up. I don't know if Digg keeps track of links and will automatically direct you to "Digg" the article I submitted or not. If anyone could tell me how it works that'd be great. lol
